| Build a Culture Based on Hope Rather Than on Fear |

Treat paid workers like volunteers and watch what happens to the culture in your organization!
Think about your workplace and employees. If your employees were volunteers, would they come back to work tomorrow?
Managers at nonprofits know they must:
- Create a welcoming and warm work environment
- Have meaningful work for volunteers to do
- Treat volunteers with respect
- Provide appropriate training
- Show appreciation for work done.
These things create an environment of hope.
If your employees were rating their work environment on these 5 criteria, would they say, "Yes, that’s true where I work" to each? If you don't think so, start changing your behavior and mindset and begin changing the workplace for the better today.
If your employees would shout a loud "Yes!" celebrate with your employees and keep up the good work!
